The Capital Center for Studies and the Liberal Club in Cairo held a discussion session entitled “Priorities of the state’s general budget plan and rationalizing government spending in light of economic challenges” to discuss the draft state’s general budget plan for the year 2023/2024.
The session included many rich discussions on the criteria for developing the economic plan, the draft general budget, the principle of budget comprehensiveness, spending priorities, and reforming the budget deficit, and focusing on the section on support and grants and the role of initiatives in supporting the citizen in light of the economic crisis and high inflation rates, especially the Solidarity and Dignity and Decent Life projects. The discussions also included Talk about the tax structure, the size of internal and external debt, and the losses of economic bodies.
The session was attended by MP Amira Al-Adly and Senator Mohamed Farid, founders of the Liberal Club, Former MP Talaat Khalil, Head of the Public Debt, Budget Deficit and Financial Reform Committee in the National Dialogue, MP Ahmed Fathy, Deputy of the Solidarity Committee in the House of Representatives, MP Emad Khalil, member of the House of Representatives, and Eng. Mohamed Amin, Secretary-General of the Conservative Party, Mr. Ahmed Abdel Aziz, Mr. Ahmed Al-Fass – journalist, Mr. Muhammad Abdel Jaber, and Mr. Omar Al-Masry are members of the club.
The session was moderated by Mr. Emad Raouf, founder of the Liberal Club and director of the Capital Center for Studies.
